THE BURMILLA
The breeds History
The first ‘Burmilla’ was the result of
an accidental mating in 1981, in the
United kingdom, between a Chinchilla
Persian male and Lilac Burmese female.
The resulting offspring, 4 females and 1
male, were so impressive with their
spectacular look and superb temperament
that it was decided to start a breeding
program.
The development of the Burmilla breed
began in Australia in 1994.
Burmilla Personality
The temperament of the Burmilla is quite
exceptional. The easy going relaxed
nature of the Chinchilla mixed with the
playful and mischievous nature of the
Burmese gives them a unique personality.
They are a smart, loving and intelligent
cat with personality and charm.
They love to interact with the family
and other pets, are extremely
affectionate and intelligent and learn
quickly, can be easily trained and
taught tricks.
They are quite happy amusing themselves
when left alone – with toys, a
scratching post and warm bed.
Wonderful with children and other pets ,
they are trusting, tolerant and eager to
please.
They make great companions for any age
group and are best suited for indoor
living.
